Mary Pierce, Lawanda Wade, Mable Foster, Katy Church enjoy a game of rummikub in the Wesley Meadows Retirement Community's spacious dining hall.

Wesley Meadows Retirement Community is a place where individuals in their senior years can enjoy relaxed living in a caring and nurturing environment.

That can often mean enjoying a chat on the patio or a card game in the large newly opened fellowship center. it can also mean a visit to the hairstylist inside the retirement community or perusing a book in the spacious and voluminous library inside the fellowship center, just off the main corridor leading to assisted living and unassisted living apartments.

"We completed our renovations officially in July," said Jamie Cliett with Wesley Meadows Retirement Community. "We added the fellowship center here, which includes space for exercise, patio entertainment, social gatherings and a place for families to come and visit."

Cliett said the facility has undergone an overall facelift.

"We extended the front entrance and we got all new flooring, furniture, a fish pond, a visiting area outside and added landscaping and water features to our grounds," said Cliett.

Life inside Wesley Meadows Retirement Community is just as multifaceted. The menu of activities and amenities is full of choices that provide all the comforts one can imagine. This picturesque campus sits in the middle of a sprawling meadow with a beautiful courtyard in the center of campus.

Wesley Meadows has 100 apartments and any of the apartments may be rented as Independent Living or Assisted Living. Residents furnish their own apartments creating a home that is uniquely theirs. Assisted Living Services can be delivered right to each resident's door at any apartment on our campus with no special relocation within the building needed.

With numerous activities to choose from and the daily cares of home maintenance eliminated, residents are free to enjoy their retirement the way it was meant to be.

"We are not a nursing home," Cliett said. "Everybody is free to come and go as they please. The apartments have a little kitchen with studio 1 and 2 apartments or whatever floor plans you might want."

Daily meals are served restaurant style and offer classic and featured choices which are both nutritious and delicious. Stepping into the Flowers Dining Room is like a visit to a fine restaurant, with centerpieces, table cloths and cloth napkins. Wesley Meadows is staffed with knowledgeable, hardworking personnel whose goal is to provide a safe, caring, Christian retirement environment for the residents. Our pastoral care programs and regularly scheduled activities engage residents and encourage life-long learning and friendships.

"We go shopping, we got to movies, we got to plays," Cliett said. "We have volunteers who are from different denominations to give Bible study. The residents host their own prayer meetings during the week. There are three to four worship opportunities during the week."

The apartments enable residents to largely live independent lives - with safety and security features built in.

Each apartment is equipped with two emergency pull cords, and dedicated personnel are available to help residents. Maintenance is not a worry because the campus is staffed with knowledgeable, hard-working personnel.

"We have all the comforts of home with the safety and security of a retirement community," Cliett said.
