Rain causes soaked fields, road closures

This week’s rainfall has continued to cause flooded fields and roads to close in DeSoto County. This view, late Thursday morning, is from a bluff facing the town of Walls. The flooded farmland is near Nail Road and U.S. Highway 61, which was closed for a time into Thursday morning due to a flooded roadway. On the other side of the county, Holly Springs Road was again forced to be closed for a time until nearby waters receded. Both roadways were open later Thursday.
