Omie Lee Dees went to be with Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Oct. 21, 2018. Omie was born Jan. 6, 1921 in Ripley to parents, Minnie Lee and William Reed Wildman. She moved to DeSoto County with her family in 1938 where she met the love of her life, Russell Dees. They were married for over 65 years until his passing in 2007. Omie was a member of Eudora Baptist Church for almost 80 years where she taught and helped with Bible School for many years and raised her two daughters in the church. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ethel Ramage (Buddy) and Linda Cleek (Frank); grandchildren, Fran Jendras (Jay), Christy Scallion (Cliff) and Matt Anderson and great-grandchildren, Magen Houston (Eric), Lee Scallion, Anna Scallion, Morgan Anderson and Roman Anderson. Omie Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Dees and sister, Kathlyn Goodman. Visitation was Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and service will be 10 a.m. Saturday both at Hernando Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eudora Cemetery.
