The Memphis Hustle fell to the Oklahoma City Blue 107-97 Tuesday at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Memphis led 19-14 in the first quarter, but a 13-0 Blue run over the next 2:01 gave the team an eight-point lead they would not relinquish.
Oklahoma City held significant advantages in points in the paint (64-38), bench points (58-34) and points off turnovers (22-6). Despite the Hustle grabbing more offensive boards (20-19), the Blue outscored Memphis in second chance situations 26-19.
Marquis Teague led the Hustle with 17 points while Kobi Simmons contributed 16 points, six rebounds and five assists. Omari Johnson (15 points) shot 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, including his first four attempts, and has now hit three-or-more three-point field goals in four of his last six games. Austin Nichols posted 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds off the bench while shooting 5-of-7 from the field. Jordon Crawford and Ivan Rabb dropped in 10 points apiece.
Myke Henry (career-high 22 points) and Bryce Alford (18 points) came off the bench and posted Oklahoma City's two best scoring efforts. Additionally, Yannis Morin (14 points, 11 rebounds) recorded a double-double off the bench while Rashawn Thomas also chipped in a double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds).
The squad will make its return to Landers Center this weekend for its third home back-to-back of the season. On Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m., the Hustle will take on Eastern Conference opponent Greensboro Swarm before a rematch with Oklahoma City the next day at 4 p.m.
